Atwater Village Guide 2026: Farmers Market, Restaurants, Shops & Real Estate

Where to eat, shop, and what your home is worth right now

Ughhh, Atwater Village, why are you so good?? This little Eastside neighborhood keeps pulling us back, from the Sunday farmers market to a stretch of Glendale Boulevard packed with genuinely great shops and restaurants. Here's the current guide, plus what's happening with home prices right now.

The Atwater Village Farmers Market

The Atwater Village Farmers Market on Sundays is one of the neighborhood's gems. From the freshest fish and delish sourdough from Out of Thin Air to homemade jams and farm-fresh eggs (with a "have an eggcelent day" wish from our favorite egg guy), it's become a weekly ritual for us since Levi was a baby. Beyond the market, Atwater is all about strolling tree-lined streets and popping into charming shops.

Best Shops in Atwater Village

Right on Glendale Boulevard, Wolfcat Books just opened and it's a kids' bookstore done right, a curated mix of new releases and old favorites, cute gifts and merch, a cozy story-time corner, and an interactive play phone that reads stories out loud to kids. It's an easy way to burn an hour on a Sunday after the market.

Wine and Eggs looks like a wine shop from the sidewalk (that blue and white tiled storefront is a whole photo op on its own), but step inside and it's really a full neighborhood market: organic produce, fresh flowers, and a pantry section that always seems a step ahead of the trends, on top of a great natural wine selection.

If we're having a BBQ and need the best hot dogs and burger meat, we always run to McCalls Meat and Fish Co. They're also our go-to for excellent ribeyes and roasts around the holidays. It's basically your favorite gourmet neighborhood market: high-quality meats and fish, a great selection of local farmers market produce, fresh bread and pastries, specialty cheeses, and other hand-picked pantry staples.

Potted is where I'll pop in for a housewarming or birthday gift, they've got an interesting selection of little plants and pots. We also picked up larger planters here for our kumquat tree. It's great inspiration all around, with a massive selection of vibrant, geometric, and mid-century modern planters, plus a well-curated mix of cacti, succulents, and drought-tolerant outdoor plants suited for Southern California. Beyond plants, there's outdoor decor like statues, fountains, and patio rugs, and smaller gift items like plant-themed books, candles, and artisan tabletop pots.

A Favorite Park in Atwater Village

North Atwater Park sits right along the LA River and feels like a bit of a hidden gem, a quiet spot for a nature walk on the dirt paths or just letting the kids run around. It's very well gated too, so you don't have to worry about little ones wandering off.

Best Restaurants in Atwater Village

Perfectly located between Hollywood, Glendale, and Pasadena, living in Atwater Village means easy access to some of LA's best dining spots. A few neighborhood favorites:

  • Spina — don't miss the lamb ragu
  • Bar Sinizki — order the burger and the pierogis
  • Dune — order the hummus and fried chicken
  • Tam O'Shanter — the legendary neighborhood steakhouse, get the prime rib and go during Christmas for the carol singers

Atwater Village Real Estate

Real estate in Atwater Village is just as special as its community. While lots and homes tend to be modest in size, they're rich in charm, think beautiful Spanish-style houses on leafy streets. The median home price in Atwater Village is $1,367,500, though fully renovated homes are often closer to $2M plus.

I'd love to show you around Atwater Village.
